Like Alberta, minus the snow plows

plow : n. : to invest, as capital (often followed by into). sarah and I are cursed to experience all the freak weather bc can provide. it snowed yesterday. now, this was a pretty average snow storm for most of the country. fifteen to thirty centimetres depending on your location in the greater vancouver area. but my god...my commute home last night was three hours. THREE HOURS! along the way I parked and shut my engine off for about twenty minutes and saw: three jack-knifed trucks two stalled vans one stalled honda ( not ours ) one multi-vehicle pile up involving a skidded out delivery truck, a van, a bus, a cop car, and a smashed up something that was towed away before I got through the car-clot. my trip in to work today was much nicer. only an hour or so, including a stop to the store to get a salad for lunch. traffic moved smoothly, and I saw: one two-car collision one six-car collision lots of ice people out here just don't know how to handle themselves on icy and snow. they also don't have snow removal equipment here, shovels are rare and snow plows are these holy icons like saints or martyrs. no sanding either. and a strange desire to slam the gas pedal to the floor constantly. I saw more people spinning out and almost side-sliding into each other than I thought possible. it was like everyone went retarded. anyhow, hope everyone out here made it home safe. anyone up for some settlers of catan?
